We have just spent the last 15 weeks working on Mallowmares, a cute but dark 2.5D sidescroller where you play as a marshmallow trying to escape the appetite of Humans.
For the project we wanted on focus on low poly with simple materials to make best use of the cel shader. A majority of our assets have been textured in engine using blueprints, with key assets being textured in Substance Painter. I mainly worked on the creation of the cel, toon outline and water shaders, as well as creation of assets such as the coffee machine, blender and some of the set dressing props. I also created both the steam and fire particles.
